How traits are earned and spent

What you have to spend

A hunter earns 1 Upgrade Point per level and tops out at level 50, so 50 points is the ceiling on one hunter. No hunter may hold more than 15 traits at once, whatever the points allow. Removing a trait you already bought costs nothing in Hunt Dollars, but forfeits 1 Upgrade Point.

What a recruit arrives with

A hunter you take on from the roster can bring at most one trait, drawn with equal odds from a short fixed list. A Quick Play hunter never brings one at all.

• Rifle hunter Can roll: Bloodless, Hornskin, Salveskin
• Shotgun hunter Can roll: Bloodless, Hornskin, Salveskin
• Wildcard hunter Can roll: Bloodless, Hornskin, Salveskin

Badged on the death recap

When you die, the game marks these traits on the recap screen if they played a part. This is the order it uses when more than one qualifies.
